The luggage capacities for private jet charters may vary depending on the model of the aircraft, the number of passengers scheduled to fly, and the type of equipment needed to be stored. Typically, each piece of luggage is estimated to be 50 pounds or 25 kilograms.

How much luggage can I bring on my private jet?

Conventionally, Light Jets can accommodate only a single item of baggage per passenger; Super Midsize Cabins can hold two sets of individual baggage for each passenger; Heavy Jets are built to store a much larger amount of luggage than frequently required. The Hawker 800 is a fan favorite. The luggage compartment is accessible from inside the cabin with enough room for most passenger requirements. How much luggage can I take on a private jet?

Less than most people expect on a small aircraft, and the limit is usually weight rather than space. Once fuel and passengers are accounted for, what remains is the payload available for baggage, and on a full light jet that is a modest number.

Why does the allowance change from trip to trip?

Because fuel load changes with the route and the weather, and passenger weight changes with the party. The same aircraft flying a short sector in cool air carries more than it does on a long leg on a hot afternoon.

Which cabin class should I choose for heavy luggage?

Midsize and above, in practice. Light jets are tight on both hold volume and payload, and a party of six with full suitcases will usually need the next size up. Tell the desk the bag count and rough weights at booking, because it decides the aircraft.

Can I bring skis, golf clubs or a bicycle?

Often, but it is a shape problem as well as a weight one, and some holds will not take long items at all. Raise it at booking rather than at the aircraft, because it can change which aircraft is sent and occasionally which airport.

Is hand luggage counted separately?

Not really. Everything on board counts towards the same payload, and on a small cabin there is limited space to stow anything loose. There is no separate allowance the way an airliner offers one.

What happens if we turn up with too much?

Something stays behind, or a larger aircraft is found if one is available, which takes time and money. It is the most avoidable problem in charter, and an honest bag list at booking avoids it entirely.
