An air ambulance is an aircraft configured with medical equipment and staffed by a medical crew for the duration of the flight. A medical charter can also mean a standard charter aircraft carrying a patient who is stable and does not need continuous care. Icarus Jet arranges both, and the patient medical record decides which one is appropriate.

It depends on the permits, the aircraft position, and the medical crew. Because the same desk files overflight permits and landing rights for our trip support clients, clearance work starts immediately rather than being outsourced. Call the desk with the routing and we will tell you the realistic departure window for that specific mission.

The medical team is certified and experienced in specialised areas including critical care, trauma, pediatric and adult intensive care transports, and at-risk patients.

Medical missions are quoted individually. The aircraft type, the routing, the medical configuration, the crew qualification, and the permits required all change the number, so there is no useful flat rate. Send the patient details and the desk returns an itemised quote.

Our specially equipped aircraft carry a stretcher, suction tubes, medical fluids, masks and gloves, wheelchair access, hemostest, sphygmomanometer and stethoscope, monitor, electrodes and oximeter, DC shock and pads, laryngoscope, connected ventilator, ambu bag, infusion pumps and detectors, portable and fixed oxygen cylinders, and prescription drugs. Requirements outside that list are sourced case by case against what the treating physician has specified.
