Our Fleet

Every Cabin,
Every Sector.

Thirty two jet types across six cabin classes and nine helicopter types, plus airliners for group movements. Icarus Jet is a charter broker, which means the aircraft is chosen to fit the trip rather than the trip being shaped around the aircraft.

Which are you flying?

The fleet splits two ways. Fixed wing for sectors measured in hours and continents, rotary for the legs where a runway is not the point.

Jets

Thirty two types across six cabin classes, from a two seat very light jet on a short hop to an ultra long range cabin flying nonstop between continents. Includes the three aircraft we broker exclusively.

Helicopters

Nine types, six single engine and three twin. The engine count decides most of these trips: twins for night and overwater legs, singles for daylight island and coastal transfers.

How We Choose

Four things decide the aircraft

Passengers and baggage

Seat count sets the floor. Baggage volume often sets it higher than people expect, particularly with ski or golf equipment.

Sector length

Range decides whether the trip is nonstop or whether a fuel stop is added, which changes both the time and the cost.

The runway at both ends

Short or unpaved runways rule out most jets. This is why a turboprop is sometimes the right answer over a faster aircraft.

What the leg demands

Overwater, after dark, or a patient on board. Each of those narrows the aircraft before cabin comfort is considered at all.

Also In The Fleet

Beyond jets and helicopters

Group and airliner charter

For movements above 19 passengers we charter the ERJ-135, the CRJ 1000 and the Airbus A319. See group and large jet charter.

Air ambulance

Several aircraft are configured for patient transport, including three Citation Sovereigns in Cairo and a Lear 35A in Athens. See medical air transport.

Turboprop

The King Air B200 and 350i for short sectors into airfields where a jet cannot operate.

Send the routing, dates and passenger count. The desk comes back with the aircraft that genuinely work for that sector, what is available on those dates, and an itemised price. Usually within 60 minutes.

Questions

Questions about the fleet

Does Icarus Jet own its aircraft?

Icarus Jet is an ARGUS registered charter broker rather than an operator, with the exception of a small number of aircraft we broker exclusively. The advantage is that the aircraft is selected against your trip from a global operator network, instead of being whatever happens to sit on one company's ramp.

How many aircraft can you charter?

Thirty two jet types across six cabin classes, nine helicopter types, and airliners for group movements. That is the set we charter most often rather than a hard limit. If a trip needs something outside it, the desk will source it.

How do you choose which aircraft to offer?

Passenger count, sector length, baggage, and the runway at both ends. Those four decide the shortlist. For helicopters the deciding factor is usually whether the leg is overwater or after dark, which is what separates a single engine aircraft from a twin.

Which aircraft does Icarus Jet broker exclusively?

The Learjet 35A, the Hawker 850 XP and the Citation Sovereign 680. We also hold exclusive rights to further aircraft worldwide available for medical air transport, including three Citation Sovereigns based in Cairo and a Lear 35A in Athens.

Can you fly a group larger than 19 passengers?

Yes. Group movements are flown on airliner equipment such as the ERJ-135, CRJ 1000 and Airbus A319, quoted through group and large jet charter.

Do you charter air ambulance aircraft?

Yes. Several aircraft in the fleet are configured for patient transport, and the medical air transport page covers the equipment carried, the medical crew, and how a mission is arranged.

What is the difference between a charter broker and an operator?

An operator flies its own aircraft and will sell you what it has. A broker sources from many operators and selects against your trip. Icarus Jet is an ARGUS registered broker, which is why this fleet spans six cabin classes and nine helicopter types rather than whatever one company happens to own.

Will I know which specific aircraft I am flying on?

Yes. The quote names the aircraft type, and the tail number is confirmed ahead of the flight along with the operator. If a substitution becomes necessary the desk tells you before it happens rather than after.

How quickly can you turn a quote around?

Usually within 60 minutes of receiving the routing, dates and passenger count. Complex international trips needing permits can take longer, and the desk will say so rather than leaving you waiting.

Do you charter turboprops as well as jets?

Yes. The King Air B200 and 350i are on the fleet specifically because short and unpaved runways rule out most jets. On the right sector a turboprop gets you closer to your actual destination than a faster aircraft can.

Routing, dates, passenger count. That is enough for the desk to come back with real options and a real number.
