Cairo to Dubai
Private Jet Charter
Cairo to Dubai is about three hours in the air, 1304 nautical miles from Sphinx to Dubai International or Al Maktoum, on a midsize, super-midsize or heavy jet. Both Dubai airports take any aircraft; the choice is a slot at DXB against ramp space and flexibility at DWC. You land two hours later on the clock in winter, one in summer.

The route
Why fly private from Cairo to Dubai?
Cairo to Dubai is the Gulf business sector on our desk: 1304 nautical miles, about three hours in the air, and a landing at one of two airports that both take anything you bring. Banking, property, the trading houses and the family offices that run between the two cities fly it every week, in both directions, and the question on every quote is which Dubai airport.
Why private works here
Leave Sphinx, 35 minutes from downtown Cairo, and land at Al Maktoum with the car at the aircraft and no queue, or at Dubai International through a private terminal when the meeting is in the east of the city or you are connecting onward. No airline check-in at either end, the team works through the flight, and a morning departure from Cairo is in a Dubai office after lunch.
Aircraft fit
At this distance a midsize jet flies it nonstop with eight aboard and normal luggage, with the desk checking the winds on the day. A super-midsize jet takes eight or nine faster and quieter with a proper galley, and is the usual choice for a working flight. Heavy jets fly it with the most room and are the aircraft the Gulf business market expects. Light jets need a stop and are rarely the right money on this sector.
Advisor note
Private jets are not banned at Dubai International, whatever you have heard. What DXB has is a Level 3 slot, the most constrained kind there is, and at peak it is genuinely scarce. Al Maktoum runs 24 hours under facilitation with ramp to spare, so if your timings might move or the aircraft is staying several days, we land you there and you lose nothing. We file the UAE permit and the slot together, because one without the other is worth nothing.

What determines the cost of a Cairo to Dubai private jet charter?
A three-hour international sector is priced on the aircraft, the trip shape, the airport and its handling, the permits and the dates. These are the things that move the number on Cairo to Dubai.
Aircraft class
Midsize, super-midsize and heavy jets fly it nonstop. The cabin you choose is the biggest single swing in the quote, and for a working flight the super-midsize is usually worth the difference.
Round trip or two one-ways
A two-night trip may keep the aircraft in Dubai, where Al Maktoum has the ramp for it. A longer stay is usually better as two one-way flights. The desk prices both and tells you which is cleaner.
Which Dubai airport
Handling at Dubai International is mandatory and parking pressure often forces a repositioning leg. Al Maktoum has FBOs, ramp space and no hard slot. The airport decision moves the number as much as the aircraft does.
Permits and the slot
Departure needs the Egyptian permit and arrival needs the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority permit, plus a Level 3 slot at DXB. Lead times differ and we file them together on every trip.
The season
October to April is the Gulf season, with the winter holiday weeks and the big Dubai exhibitions the tightest for aircraft out of Cairo and DXB slots. Those dates need firm bookings weeks ahead.
What the number covers
We tell you what the quote covers before you book and we hold the operator to the number we gave you. No surprises on the invoice is the point of using the desk.
Aircraft
Which aircraft flies Cairo to Dubai?
Every jet class in the Icarus brokered fleet flies this sector. These are the three quoted most on Cairo to Dubai.
Citation XLS and Hawker 800 class
Eight passengers with a stand-up cabin. Nonstop with normal luggage; the desk checks the winds before it quotes.
Challenger 350 and Gulfstream G280 class
Eight or nine in a wider, quieter cabin with a proper galley, nonstop with margin, and the usual choice for a working flight.
Challenger 650 and Gulfstream G450 class
Ten to twelve passengers with room to work or sleep, and the aircraft the Gulf market expects on a business sector.
Larger delegations go on an ultra-long-range or airliner-cabin aircraft into Al Maktoum. See the jets we broker for the full range by cabin class.
Before you fly
What should I know before flying Cairo to Dubai?
It is an international flight, so bring passports for everyone aboard. The desk files the crew and passenger details with the Egyptian permit and confirms each passenger's entry requirements for the United Arab Emirates before departure. Customs is cleared at the aircraft at both ends.
Al Maktoum is the business aviation answer. A 14,764 foot main runway, longer than either at DXB, Category 9 fire cover, FBOs on the field, 24-hour operation and ramp space that Dubai International does not have. It sits southwest of the city in the Jebel Ali area, and every scheduled flight at DXB is due to transfer here between 2032 and 2035.
Dubai International is right in three cases. When you are connecting onto a scheduled flight, when the destination is the east of the city, or when a specific private terminal is required. It is IATA Level 3 slot coordinated, handling is mandatory, and slot misuse carries penalties, so the timings you give the desk are the timings you fly.
On the Cairo side, Sphinx is the better private airport for most trips. A single 11,975 foot runway west of the city in Giza, open 24 hours with customs on site, no airport slot, no airline queue, about 35 minutes from downtown and materially cheaper to operate into. Cairo International in Heliopolis earns its place when you are connecting onto a scheduled flight, when the destination is the east of the city, or when the aircraft might need maintenance support, which Sphinx cannot provide. It is slot coordinated with mandatory handling, so the permit, slot and handling are filed together.
You lose time on the way there. Dubai is on Gulf Standard Time all year, two hours ahead of Egypt in winter and one in summer. A 9 am departure from Sphinx is on the ground in Dubai around 2 pm local in winter, in time for an afternoon of meetings.
When to go
When is the best time to fly Cairo to Dubai?
October to April is the Gulf season, when Dubai is at its busiest for business and leisure alike. The winter holiday weeks and the major exhibitions are the tightest for aircraft out of Cairo and for DXB slots, and need firm dates weeks ahead. Allow the permit lead times on any first trip.
Summer is quiet, hot and easy to book, and Al Maktoum runs around the clock either way. A few days of notice is normal from Cairo outside the peak, with the UAE permit and the Egyptian permit filed together.

Are private jets banned at Dubai International?
No. Private terminals continue to operate at DXB. What is true is that the airport has been IATA Level 3 slot coordinated since 2010, so every movement needs an allocated slot, peak slots are scarce, and misuse carries penalties. Al Maktoum runs under a facilitation regime with far more flexibility.
Which Dubai airport should I use?
Al Maktoum for most private trips: 24 hours, ramp space, FBOs and no hard slot. Dubai International when you are connecting onto a scheduled flight, when the destination is the east of the city, or when a specific private terminal is needed. The desk quotes both.
Which Cairo airport do private jets use for Dubai?

We file them together on every trip. Passengers need passports and the desk confirms entry requirements.
What determines the cost of a Cairo to Dubai private jet?
The aircraft class, whether the trip is a round trip or two one-way flights, which Dubai airport and its handling, the permits and slot, and the dates against the October to April season. We tell you what the quote covers before you book.
Can I fly Dubai to Cairo on the same page?
Yes. The sector is quoted in both directions. Put Dubai International or Al Maktoum as the departure in the form and the desk handles it the same way, with the Egyptian permit on the Cairo end.
What is the time difference between Cairo and Dubai?
Two hours in winter and one in summer. Dubai is on Gulf Standard Time, UTC+4, all year. Egypt is UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer.
Can the aircraft stay in Dubai for a few days?
At Al Maktoum, usually yes; it has the ramp space. At Dubai International, parking pressure often forces a repositioning leg, which costs money and crew duty. On a multi-day trip that difference often decides the airport.
How much notice do I need to book Cairo to Dubai?
Allow the permit lead times on a first trip: four business days for Egypt, and the UAE permit and any DXB slot filed alongside. After that a few days is normal, and for the winter holiday weeks and exhibition dates give the desk firm dates weeks ahead. With both permits already on file the desk can have an aircraft off Cairo within about four hours of the call, subject to crew availability.
