Maldives
Airport Guides
The Maldives is one runway. Every jet lands at Velana on Hulhule, next to Male, with a permit from the civil aviation authority filed ahead, parking confirmed rather than assumed, and the last leg to the resort by seaplane, boat or domestic turboprop, booked with the aircraft.

Operating into Maldives
What is different about flying a private jet into Maldives
The Maldives is a thousand islands and one runway. Velana International on Hulhule, the reef island next to the capital Male, is the only airport in the country that takes a jet, with an 11,155 foot runway opened in October 2022, customs and immigration at all hours, Jet A-1 through the handlers, and Maldives Airports Company as the operator. The resort is never at the airport: it is a seaplane from the terminal on the same island, a speedboat from the jetty, or a domestic turboprop to a regional strip and a boat from there. The country runs on Maldives Time, UTC+5, all year.
The permit comes first. A landing permit from the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority is mandatory for private and charter flights, filed at least 48 working hours ahead and ideally 72, valid for about 72 hours around the schedule, from an authority that keeps weekday office hours. The file is the schedule, the routing, the crew and passenger details and the aircraft documents, and the aircraft is disinsected on arrival under the Maldivian circular, which the handler arranges.
Parking is the constraint that shapes the trip. The apron at Velana carries the scheduled widebodies and the general aviation fleet together, and in season a business jet is given a stand for the turnaround and asked to reposition if it wants to wait, most often to Colombo or Trivandrum. The desk confirms the parking with the permit and prices the repositioning from the start when the stay is a week, so the number you accept is the number you pay.
The constraint that catches crews out is daylight. The seaplanes fly by day only and the last lift to a distant atoll leaves mid afternoon, so a jet that lands at dusk has bought its passengers a night in Male. The desk times the arrival to make the transfer, or books the hotel in advance and says so. November to April is the season, and the Christmas fortnight is when parking, seaplane seats and resort transfers tighten together.
Send the dates, the aircraft, the passenger list and the resort as early as you have them, with the aircraft documents. The desk files the Maldivian permit, confirms the parking or prices the repositioning, books the seaplane or the boat with the aircraft, arranges the fuel and the handler, and comes back with the permit reference and the local times at both ends, the seaplane departure included.

These guides cover the airport. If you are pricing a trip, the Dubai charter routes include the Dubai to Maldives sector and the private jet charter page covers how a quote is built; trip support covers the permit and the parking on your own aircraft.
