The runway is 6,244 feet and exposed to the summer meltemi, so the aircraft is chosen for the island, not the distance. The 40 minute rule
From May to September a NOTAM limits aircraft to about 40 minutes on the ground. Passengers and bags come off, the aircraft leaves. A late car or a slow unload costs a slot, so the ground plan is part of the quote.
The season
May to September is the only season, and July and August are the tightest weeks for slots, aircraft out of Cairo and Athens parking. Those dates are planned the day the slot window opens.

Before you fly
What should I know before flying Cairo to Mykonos?
It is an international flight, so bring passports for everyone aboard. The desk files the crew and passenger details with the Egyptian permit and confirms each passenger's entry requirements for Greece before departure. Customs is cleared at the aircraft at both ends. Greece is in the Schengen area, so the desk confirms the visa position for every passenger before it files.
Mykonos Airport is the arrival. A single 6,244 foot runway at 405 feet elevation with Category 7 fire cover, on an island exposed to the summer meltemi. It is IATA Level 3 slot coordinated with prior permission and mandatory handling, and scheduled operators take priority over private aircraft for the same slots.
Forty minutes, then the aircraft leaves. From about 1 May to 30 September a Greek NOTAM limits aircraft to roughly 40 minutes on the ground and there is no parking for visiting aircraft. The jet drops you, departs for Athens about 35 minutes away, and returns for the day you leave. A plan that assumes parking on Mykonos in season will fail.
The slot window opens 14 days out. The earliest a private slot can be requested is 14 days before the movement, so the desk files on that morning, with the permission and the handling, and tells you the same day whether it is confirmed.
On the Cairo side, Sphinx is the better private airport for most trips. A single 11,975 foot runway west of the city in Giza, open 24 hours with customs on site, no airport slot, no airline queue, about 35 minutes from downtown and materially cheaper to operate into. Cairo International in Heliopolis earns its place when you are connecting onto a scheduled flight, when the destination is the east of the city, or when the aircraft might need maintenance support, which Sphinx cannot provide. It is slot coordinated with mandatory handling, so the permit, slot and handling are filed together.
No time change. Egypt and Greece are both on Eastern European time with the same summer clock, so a 10 am departure from Sphinx is on the ground in Mykonos around 11:30.
When to go
When is the best time to fly Cairo to Mykonos?
May to September is the season and, in practice, the only time the sector flies. July and August are the tightest weeks for slots, for aircraft out of Cairo and for Athens parking. Give the desk firm dates well ahead so the slot request goes in the morning the 14 day window opens.
June and September are the easier months: the same island, warmer sea in September, and slots that usually come. Outside the season the airport is quiet, the ground limit lifts, and the desk quotes it like any other Greek field.
