Why fly by helicopter from Athens to Amanzoe?
Athens to Amanzoe is the shortest sector on the Athens desk: 48 nautical miles, about 25 minutes across the Saronic Gulf, and a landing on the resort's own pad on the hill above Porto Heli. There is no airport on the Argolid peninsula and the road takes two and a half hours, so the helicopter is how the resort is reached from a jet arriving into Athens, and most Amanzoe guests arrive that way.
Why the helicopter works here
Lift from Athens International, where the arriving jet has parked, or from Megara west of the city, and land at Amanzoe with the resort staff at the pad and the villa minutes away. No coast road, no hydrofoil to Porto Heli and a car at the other end, and the same helicopter takes you across to Spetses, Hydra or the islands during the stay.

There is no fixed-wing option. The nearest runway is on the mainland and the resort is reached by road or by its helipad. A single-engine helicopter carries four with light luggage in about 25 minutes and is the usual answer for a couple. What should I know before flying Athens to Amanzoe by helicopter?
It is a domestic flight within Greece, so there is no customs. Bring passports or EU ID; the crew checks them at the aircraft. Helicopter baggage is by weight and size, and the desk tells you the allowance for the type when it quotes.

Amanzoe sits on the hill above Porto Heli on the Argolid peninsula and has its own helipad, used by daylight with the resort's approval, which the desk arranges against your booking. Athens International is where an arriving jet parks and where most island helicopters load, 20 miles east of the city at Spata, under a Level 3 slot with mandatory handling. Megara, the Army helicopter base west of the city with a civil apron, takes helicopters and light aircraft by day with no permission needed and is the quieter lift for a trip that starts in Athens itself. Tatoi and Elefsis are military fields closed to visiting aircraft, whatever the map suggests.
