History of Dubendorf Airport

Dubendorf airport first opened in 1910 and it was primarily a military airport. During the 2nd World was Dubendorf Airport was sued by the Swiss Airforce to enforce their actions against the US and British Airforce bombers and fighters. After the 2nd World War, Dubendorf was considered for expansion and into a major airport, but later, that plan was scrapped in favor of Zurich Airport as the main airport. Dubendorf is a still a Military and a Civilian use airport. The airport is mainly used for an overflow of private jets in Zurich (especially during the Davos World economic forum).
