What are -One way quotes- you ask? A lot of companies list one way rates to make it easier and competitive for them to sell the hours on the aircraft and keep the aircraft flying. They’re usually available for high traffic markets like New York-Miami or Dallas-Aspen. Depending on the season this market shift to the Caribbean from any of the big cities in the USA.
These trips are quoted one way as the Operator knows fully well that they will almost certainly find someone to charter the aircraft bake to its home base in a matter of few days. We also provide – One way and Empty Leg Charter– . If you’re savvy client then this is the best deal for you. The only drawback of this type of charter is that the client has to be flexible with their time and date of departure and the broker has to find an aircraft that is flying in the same direction as the client.
Almost all Charter quotes are round trip, so for example if a client needs to be picked up In Miami and dropped off in Denver, Icarus Jet would then through its database of operators and personal connections find an aircraft that is either in Miami or at an airport close to it and is flying to Denver or close to it. This aircraft has already flown its paid leg and it’s now waiting to fly back to its destination. As your broker it’s our job to then connect this aircraft to you and negotiate a cost effective rate.
For the operator and our client this a win-win situation as they benefit from the extra revenue and the client doesn’t have to pay for the return trip of the aircraft. Sometimes these quotes are discounted more than 50% of the value of an actual round trip charter.
