Gulfstream G650 specifications
Passenger figure is the certified maximum; charter cabins are usually configured for fewer. Figures are representative of the type and vary with configuration and load.
Where it fits
A six foot five cabin and 7,000 NM of range
The Gulfstream G650 has the longest published range and the highest cruise speeds of the ultra long range jets we cover. Gulfstream publishes a range of 7,000 NM at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and four crew, a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90 and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925.
The cabin is six feet five inches tall and eight feet six inches wide, lit by 16 panoramic windows, and at 41,000 feet it is pressurised to a cabin altitude of 3,290 feet. Gulfstream offered it with up to four living areas, and a 195 cubic foot baggage compartment sits behind the cabin.
It flies on two Rolls-Royce BR725 A1-12 engines. The first G650 was delivered on 20 December 2012, the longer range G650ER followed with the same cabin, and the last of the family left the production line in February 2025, with the G800 succeeding it.
Nonstops beyond its 7,000 NM published range, which need a fuel stop (the G650ER's published range is 7,500 NM), and trips that sit well inside 4,000 NM. For those shorter sectors the extra range is capacity you do not use, and a large cabin aircraft such as the Gulfstream G450 does the job from a 5,600 foot takeoff run.
Missions
What the desk books it for
New York to Asia and the Gulf
New York to Tokyo and New York to Dubai nonstop, sectors beyond the range of the large cabin jets we cover. The desk plans the season's winds before it quotes.
Transatlantic at Mach 0.90
Zurich to New York and back with range to spare, where the high-speed cruise shortens the day rather than the range deciding whether a stop is needed.
Arriving rested on a long night
An 8 foot 6 inch wide cabin with up to four living areas, held at a 3,290 foot cabin altitude at 41,000 feet, for delegations and families who need to work or sleep on the way.
The Gulf to London and the Pacific
Dubai to London, Riyadh to London and Los Angeles to Hawaii sit well inside its range with a full long haul load and 195 cubic feet of baggage.

Cabin and baggage
Six feet five, eight feet six wide, sixteen windows
The cabin measures 46 feet 10 inches excluding baggage, with a total interior length of 53 feet 7 inches, and is 8 feet 6 inches wide and 6 feet 5 inches tall, for a cabin volume of 2,138 cubic feet. Up to 19 passengers is the certified maximum; charter cabins are configured for fewer, and the published range is quoted with eight aboard.
Gulfstream offered up to four living areas and 16 panoramic windows. At 41,000 feet the cabin is pressurised to 3,290 feet. The layout varies by aircraft, so the desk confirms seats, beds and galley position for the specific G650 on the quote.
The baggage compartment holds 195 cubic feet. Tell the desk the bag count, and about golf bags, skis or equipment cases, when you enquire, because on a long trip the luggage decides as much as the headcount.
Performance and airports
Runways, speed and the airports it uses
Gulfstream publishes a takeoff distance of 5,858 feet at maximum weight at sea level on a standard day (6,299 feet for the G650ER). Its maximum operating altitude is 51,000 feet, with a long range cruise of Mach 0.85 and a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90.
On the routes the desk flies it, that means executive airports with the runway for a heavy long haul departure, including Teterboro, Farnborough and Geneva.
Shorter and high elevation fields change the answer. At Aspen the runway available on the day depends on elevation, temperature and weight, and London City requires a type and crew approved for its steep approach. The desk checks both for the specific aircraft before a quote goes out.
Compare the class
G650 against the other ultra long range
How the G650 lines up against the other ultra long range jets we cover. It has the longest published range, the highest cruise speeds and the tallest, widest cabin of the four; the Falcon 7X takes off in a shorter distance and the G550 and Global 6000 are the options when the trip does not need the G650's extra range.
| Aircraft | Passengers | Range | Cruise | Cabin height | Baggage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dassault Falcon 7X | Up to 19 | 5,950 NM | Mach 0.80 | 6 ft 2 in | 140 cu ft |
| Bombardier Global 6000 | 13 to 19 | 6,000 NM | 487 kts | 6 ft 2 in | 195 cu ft |
| Gulfstream G550 | Up to 19 | 6,750 NM | Mach 0.85 | 6 ft 2 in | 170 cu ft |

Chartering with Icarus Jet
How we charter the Gulfstream G650
We source G650s and G650ERs from ARGUS-audited and Wyvern-certified operators, and the operator's name and audit status are on the quote. The desk checks the range against the real routing, including the season's winds, and the baggage against the real party before it checks availability, so the aircraft offered genuinely fits the trip.
Quotes are all-in and itemised: aircraft and crew, positioning, landing and handling, fuel and taxes, with nothing added after the flight that was not on the page. The number depends on where the nearest suitable aircraft is based, the dates and the airports, which is why we price your actual trip rather than publish a rate.
Questions
G650 questions the desk gets
How far can a Gulfstream G650 fly nonstop?
Gulfstream publishes 7,000 NM at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and four crew on NBAA IFR reserves. That covers New York to Tokyo and New York to Dubai in one leg. Winds, temperature and weight decide the real figure on the day, and the desk plans each leg against them.
How many passengers does a G650 seat?
Up to 19 is the certified maximum, but charter cabins are configured for fewer. Gulfstream quotes the 7,000 NM range with eight passengers, so eight is the load the desk plans long sectors around.
Can you stand up in the cabin?
Yes. The cabin is 6 feet 5 inches tall, 8 feet 6 inches wide and 46 feet 10 inches long excluding baggage, so most passengers stand upright and walk the length of it without stooping.
How much luggage fits on a G650?
The baggage compartment holds 195 cubic feet. Tell the desk about golf bags, skis or equipment cases when you enquire, so the hold is planned before the aircraft is offered.
What is the difference between the G650 and the G650ER?
The G650ER keeps the same cabin and carries more fuel, for a published range of 7,500 NM at Mach 0.85 against the G650's 7,000 NM. It needs a longer takeoff run, 6,299 feet against 5,858 feet at maximum weight. The desk will tell you which is available and whether your routing needs the extra range.
How fast is the Gulfstream G650?
Gulfstream quotes a long range cruise of Mach 0.85, a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90 and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. Its maximum operating altitude is 51,000 feet.
What is the cabin altitude on a G650?
At 41,000 feet the G650 cabin is pressurised to 3,290 feet. The G650ER holds its cabin at 4,060 feet at 45,000 feet.
