One of the first airfields in Greece
The airfield dates to the early years of Greek aviation and was among the first in the country, associated with the nearby royal estate at Tatoi.
It became the home of the Hellenic Air Force Academy and has trained the Air Force’s officers for generations. That is the role it holds today, and it is why it is not available to anyone else.
