Where it fits

Stand-up comfort from a shorter runway

The Citation Latitude is Textron Aviation's midsize jet, in production since its FAA certification in June 2015. Its published range of 2,700 NM is quoted with four passengers at high-speed cruise on NBAA IFR reserves, which puts Los Angeles to New York inside a single leg.

The cabin is six feet tall and six feet five inches wide on a flat floor that runs from the cockpit divider to the aft lavatory wall. Textron quotes a cabin altitude of 4,950 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet.

Takeoff at maximum weight is 3,580 feet at sea level on a standard day, useful on shorter regional runways. Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D1 engines of 5,907 lb thrust each power it, and the 400th Latitude rolled off the Wichita line in May 2024.

Not the aircraft for

Trips where the main bags must be reached in flight, or sectors longer than its 2,700 NM with four passengers. The main baggage compartment is in the tailcone behind the pressure bulkhead, so only the cabin closets are reachable on board. For both, a super midsize such as the Challenger 350, with 3,200 NM and a hold you can reach in flight, is the better tool.

Missions

What the desk books it for

01

Coast to coast in one leg

Los Angeles to New York is 2,129 NM, inside the Latitude's published range with four passengers. The desk plans the wind and weight for the direction you fly before it quotes.

02

Europe to Africa and the Gulf

London to Cairo, Cairo to Nairobi and Nairobi to Dubai all sit under 1,920 NM, well inside its range, with permits filed alongside the trip.

03

Up to nine with room to stand

Team travel and family trips where people want to move around: a six-foot flat-floor cabin, nine seats in the standard layout and 127 cubic feet of total baggage capacity.

04

Shorter regional runways

A 3,580 foot takeoff at maximum weight opens smaller airports closer to where people are going. The desk checks the specific runway, elevation and temperature for each trip.

Routes the desk flies on the Citation Latitude

Sectors from our route guides that sit inside the Citation Latitude's published range. Each opens to the flight time, the airports at both ends and what to know before you fly.

Cabin and baggage

Six feet tall, flat floor, bags in the tail

The cabin measures 21 feet 9 inches from the flight compartment dividers to the aft pressure bulkhead, including the lavatory, 6 feet 5 inches wide and 6 feet tall, on a flat floor. The standard layout seats nine.

The lavatory at the rear is separated from the cabin by sliding divider doors, with a flushing toilet, a sink and a belted seat in that area. Textron quotes a cabin altitude of 4,950 feet at 41,000 feet.

Textron quotes 127 cubic feet and 1,245 lb of total baggage capacity. The main compartment is in the tailcone with its own external door and cannot be reached in flight, so carry-ons go in the forward closet and the aft lavatory closet. Tell the desk what needs to stay in the cabin when you enquire.

Performance and airports

Runways, climb and the airports it opens

Textron publishes a balanced field length of 3,580 feet at maximum weight at sea level on a standard day, and a landing distance of 2,480 feet. It is certified to 45,000 feet, with a maximum cruise of 446 knots at 35,000 feet and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.80.

The desk checks those figures against the executive airports on the routes it flies, including Teterboro, Dallas Love Field and Farnborough.

High and hot fields change the answer. At Aspen, the runway length available on the day depends on elevation, temperature and weight, and London City requires a type and crew approved for its steep approach. The desk checks both for the specific aircraft before a quote goes out.

Citation Latitude against the other midsize jets

How the Citation Latitude lines up against the other midsize jets we cover. The Legacy 450 flies further with more baggage and the Citation Sovereign seats more, while the Learjet 60 and Hawker 800XP have smaller holds and need longer runways; the Latitude's case is a six-foot flat-floor cabin with the shortest takeoff distance of the five.

Chartering with Icarus Jet

How we charter the Citation Latitude

We source Citation Latitudes from ARGUS-audited and Wyvern-certified operators, and the operator's name and audit status are on the quote. The desk checks range against the real routing, and which bags need to stay in the cabin, before it checks availability, so the aircraft offered is one that genuinely fits the trip.

Quotes are all-in and itemised: aircraft and crew, positioning, landing and handling, fuel and taxes, with nothing added after the flight that was not on the page. The number depends on where the nearest suitable aircraft is based, the dates and the airports, so we price your actual trip instead of publishing a rate.

Questions

Citation Latitude questions the desk gets

How far can a Citation Latitude fly nonstop?

Textron publishes 2,700 NM with four passengers at high-speed cruise on NBAA IFR reserves. That covers Los Angeles to New York and London to Cairo. Winds, temperature and weight decide the real figure on the day, and the desk plans each leg against them.

How many passengers does a Citation Latitude seat?

Nine in the standard layout, which is also the maximum Textron lists. The published range is based on four passengers, so the desk plans long sectors around the real headcount and bags.

Can you stand up in the cabin?

Yes. The cabin is 6 feet tall on a flat floor, 6 feet 5 inches wide and 21 feet 9 inches long including the lavatory, so most passengers stand upright and walk the length of it without stooping.

How much luggage fits on a Citation Latitude?

Textron quotes 127 cubic feet and 1,245 lb in total. The main compartment is in the tailcone and cannot be reached in flight, so anything needed on board goes in the cabin closets. Tell the desk about golf bags, skis or equipment cases when you enquire.

Can a Citation Latitude fly Los Angeles to New York nonstop?

The sector is 2,129 NM, inside its published range with four passengers. Winds and a fuller cabin change the margin, so the desk plans the specific day and direction before it quotes.

Is the Citation Latitude still in production?

Yes. It was certified in June 2015 and first delivered in August 2015, and the 400th aircraft rolled out in May 2024. Textron announced Garmin G5000 avionics upgrades in 2024 for availability in 2026.

How fast is the Citation Latitude?

Textron gives a maximum cruise of 446 knots at 35,000 feet and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.80. It is certified to 45,000 feet and holds a cabin altitude of 4,950 feet at 41,000 feet.
