The Network
Helicopter charter destinations, explained
Each destination is a working reference for one island or region: the approved helipads and private pads, the transfers we fly most, the aircraft that suit short over-water legs, and the season that governs availability. Every route also gets its own guide, from flight time to drop-off options. The guides carry the operational detail; our helicopter charter desk arranges the flights themselves, across Greece, the Aegean and Italy.
What sits inside a helicopter destination?
Each destination opens with the pads. Mykonos alone has four approved sites, from the airport to the Scorpios helipad, and choosing between them turns on permissions, party size and where the day actually ends. From there it covers the transfers we fly most and the aircraft that fit them, from single-engine machines on short hops to the twin-engine H-135 carrying six over water.
Aircraft choice gets its own treatment in the safest helicopters to charter in Greece, and helicopter versus turboprop settles the question for longer inter-island sectors. Every route guide carries flight time and drop-off options for its leg.
What do we handle on the ground?
Icarus Jet is a trip support company as well as a charter broker, so the ground side is arranged in house rather than subcontracted out: helipad permissions, ground transfers between pad and villa, and jet fuel planning for the aircraft waiting at Athens, through a trip support desk staffed around the clock.
That is why the guides carry parking limits and repositioning notes rather than brochure copy. For the fixed-wing legs into the region, private jet charter covers the network.

FAQ about helicopter destinations
How long is the helicopter flight from Athens to Mykonos?
Typically 45 to 55 minutes depending on aircraft and routing, against hours on a ferry.
Where can helicopters land on Mykonos?
Approved helipads only, including Mykonos Airport (LGMK), Kalo Livadi, Ornos Beach, and selected private sites such as the Scorpios helipad, subject to permissions.
How long is the flight from Athens to Santorini?
Just over an hour on a single or twin-engine helicopter.
Should I choose a single or twin engine helicopter?
Both operate across the islands. Twin-engine aircraft add engine redundancy, which many passengers prefer for over-water legs; singles are efficient for short hops.
How many passengers can a helicopter carry?
Our helicopters seat 4 to 7 depending on type; the twin-engine Airbus H-135 carries up to six passengers.
When should I book a helicopter in Greece?
The season runs April to October, and in peak season the best aircraft book four to six weeks ahead.
Can our jet wait in Athens while we island-hop?
In summer, overnight parking at Athens is limited to roughly 48 hours, so aircraft commonly reposition. We plan the jet and helicopter legs together.
Can I fly by helicopter from Türkiye to Greece?
Yes. Cross-Aegean charters operate, with the Bodrum to Mykonos corridor the most requested link.
Do you support medical evacuation by helicopter in Greece?
Yes. Helicopter medevac supports yachts and remote islands, coordinated with ambulance services at both ends.
Is ground transportation arranged at the helipad?
Yes. Transfers between helipads, hotels and villas are arranged as part of the charter.
